Running enhances intelligence – scientific study

Running enhances intelligence – scientific study

There has been a belief that the only way to keep the brain sharp is exercise.  But there are different types of exercises.  But two recent studies proved that running is the only exercise that aids in brain sharpness.  Though any exercise is useful to burn the fat and strengthen the muscles, it is only the running that works for the brain.

Researchers from Finland have proved this scientifically.  Cell Metabolism, a renowned health publishes this.  scientists who conducted both these experiments changes in the brain during high intensive interval training (HIT) like aerobic exercises and Resistive training (RT) like weight lifting and observed that there is no change between the two types of exercises in the brain function.

Later they observed the brain function in runners.  Surprisingly, it was observed that hippocampus, a part of brain, was functioning rapidly and its cells multiplied.  Not only did the old cells became stronger, there was genesis of new cells also.  Therefore, the came to the opinion that running is the best exercises to increase memory and intelligence.  So, guys come on run and turn intelligent.

7 things that people often judge you upon....

Introduction:

No matter how good you look, or how courteous you come across, people will judge you; they are going to judge you anyway!!
Right from the moment, you see them or they see you, the ‘Game of Judgment’ begins…
We humans have such urgency to judge a person and maybe that is why we look for certain signs in the other person. We may appear to be talking or greeting each other, but back in our minds we are busy noticing, evaluating them.
A group of researchers studied a sample of 200 people and their basis of judgments; they concluded that it is in human nature to judge one another and form opinions. They also construed that people judge your personality on the basis of 7 small things, take a look…

Handwriting-
Every person has their own unique way of writing- the size of their letters, the font, etc. Did you know that your handwriting gives out clear signals about your personality? A study conducted by the National Pen Company, revealed that people who tend to write smaller letters possessed shy, and studious nature, whereas people with bigger letters and bolder fonts turned out to be more outgoing.
Those who take things seriously put more pressure on the pen when they write, while light-handed writers typically tend to be empathetic and are more sensitive.

Color of clothes
You may chose a color that suits you and enhances your charm, but the same color lets out secrets of your personality. People are inclined to pick a color that speaks to them, like some people may often be seen donning black, or red or yellow, for instance. The ones who chose black are quite sensitive and are attentive towards detail, while those who love red enjoy adventure and are proactive in life. Those prefer green are loyal and the ones to whom white appeal the most are quite logical and organized in their life.

Bodily reactions
The habit of nail biting is often seen as a sign of nervousness, but it also speaks a lot about your personality. Similarly, the way your body reacts to certain situations in life, explains a lot, for example pulling hair strand, biting nail skin or nail are signs of frustration, dullness and tense personality.

Footwear
There is a very famous saying, "Always judge a man by his shoes," as it reveals a lot about a person's true nature, hygiene and attention to details. The style of footwear, the way its maintained speaks a lot about one's personality, like whether they are spendthrift, or gentle, political affiliation and lifestyle.

Eye-contact
Here I am not referring to contact lens, but the way a person holds eye contact. Eyes are believed to be a mirror to one's soul. A person can be easily judged based on how they hold their eye contact, to say if they are being dishonest, deceitful, loyal, or conniving. People who hold a steady gaze, are strong-minded and confident, whereas a lack of steadiness can shout weak will and weak self-control.

Punctuality
Are you always to preset appointments? No matter, how well you explain your ordeal, but it does leave a negative impression about your overall personality. Getting late due to traffic is something different, but having a habit of leaving your place late, even if it is on the day of the most important meeting or function, is something different. Coming early for an important day, interview or appointment is a sign that the person is self-motivated and reliable.

Handshake
It has been discovered that people with a strong handshake exude confidence and reflect a strong and confident character. Such people are also more likely to be extroverted, being expressive of their emotions, and less likely to be placid. People with weak handshakes, on the other hand, lack confidence and always tend to want the easy way out of a challenge. Offering a handshake alone could be the different between appearing standoffish or sincerely friendly.

Rice or Roti ... which is better?

Rice or Roti ... which is better?
:
Introduction
Indians generally take rice or wheat as their staple food. Which is better? Elders advise rotis for those who are suffering from obesity. Diabetes patients too prefer rotis to rice. This article tries to give you complete information on both the staple food items.

Roti
Rotis prepared with wheat flour are better when they are made without oil. Wheat contains proteins four times higher than that in rice. Similarly, wheat contains three times higher carbohydrates and 10 times higher potassium than in rice. Glycemic index is less in wheat than in rice. It means glucose levels won't rise in blood. Roti contains six times higher fibre than in rice. Due to this, digestion becomes slow and one does not feel hungry for a longtime. Carbohydrates in rice easily mix with blood and this troubles diabetes patients. As fibre is high in wheat flour and digestion becomes slow, it takes time for carbohydrates to mix with blood.

Rice
Fibre and micro nutrients are high in brown rice than in white rice. Brown rice is better for those persons who do not want to feel hungry even while having less food. Brown rice and white rice have almost equal nutritional values. Rotis are better for diabetes patients and those who suffer from heart problems. Glycemic index is less in wheat. Glucose levels will increase in blood with the food items having high glycemic index. So, having rotis is advisable. Rice is better food for those persons who want to gain weight. If anyone does not like wheat flour, rice can be taken in small quantities at regular intervals than consuming full rice at a time.

Rice & Roti
There is a benefit if rice and rotis are taken in a meal. It is better to have meals only two times in a day, taking one roti as part of the meals and vegetables in large quantities. If one takes the food having carbohydrates in a meal, one has to take protein-rich food items in the next. With this, one can be healthy with balanced food.

Benefits of sitting on the floor and eating...

INTRODUCTION
.Eating at table and chair might be very comfortable, it might not necessarily be the best thing for your health. Sitting on the floor with legs crossed is an ancient Indian tradition and has its roots in yoga and Ayurveda. It is actually a food eating posture backed by scientific reasons. Here are some health benefits of sitting on the floor to eat.

 HELPS IMPROVE YOUR DIGESTION
When you eat from a plate placed on the floor, you will have to naturally bend forward slightly and go back to your starting position to swallow. This constant back and forth movement is said to cause the muscles of your abdomen to get activated and leads to increased secretion of stomach acids, making it easier to digest food.

 HELPS YOU LOSE WEIGHT
Sitting on the floor and eating has significant weight loss benefits too. When we sit down and eat, our body is better equipped to focus on the food we eat. Since this position makes you eat slower than you would while sitting on a table, it gives your stomach and brain time to cognate the signals of feeling full, which enables you to realise the hunger as also your satiety.

 KEY TO LIVING LONGER
A study published in the Journal European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that people who sat on the floor in padmasana and were able to get up without any support were more likely to live longer. This is because being able to get up from that position takes a considerable amount of flexibility and lower body strength.

STRENGTHENS THE HEART BY IMPROVING CIRCULATION
Have you ever noticed that when you eat, you tend to feel warmer and in some cases even sweat? Well, that is because when we eat our stomach needs all the energy it can use to digest food. One of digestion’s most important element is good blood circulation. To keep up with this process, your heart tends to work overtime to help out your digestive system. When you sit cross-legged on the floor where your heart receives the benefit of better circulation
.
RELAXES THE MIND AND CALMS THE NERVES
When we sit down to eat, we generally sit cross-legged which is also a posture in yoga known as sukhasana or padmasana. This postures calm the mind and relaxes tensed nerves.

 IMPROVES THE BODY POSTURE
Sitting cross-legged in itself is a yoga ‘asana’ which means posture. When we sit on the floor our body posture is automatically corrected with our back straight, lengthening our spine and pushing our shoulders back, beating all the common pain and aches that are caused due to bad postures.
